Fun Activities for Fall!

Autumn flies by, so you should enjoy the crisp weather and changing foliage while you can! There are so many reasons to get out this fall that we've put together a list of the top local activities for kids and adults alike!

1. Take a haunted ghost tour through Fort Delaware! This historic landmark dates back to the Civil War when the Union used it as a prison for Confederate prisoners.

2. Go apple picking at Highland Orchards in Wilmington! Don't forget to try their delicious homemade apple cider donuts!

3. Celebrating its 28th anniversary this year, the world renowned Punkin Chuckin event will be held in Dover from October 24th-26th! For those unfamiliar with this tradition, it is the sport of hurling or 'chucking' a pumpkin using high-tech catapults, slingshots and more!

4. See the changing colors with a visit to Longwood Gardens! While this is technically right over the border into Pennsylvania, I like to think we share custody of this beautiful attraction. Make sure to check out their new 86 acre Meadow Garden!

5. The Harvest Moon Festival at the Delaware Nature Society's Coverdale Farm Preserve is full of yummy food trucks, corn mazes, hay rides, music, crafts and more! Join in on the fall fun from October 4th-5th
